Despite National Election Setback, UFCW 770 Vows to Continue to Protect Worker Rights and Voice

Our mission remains the same despite the disappointing result of the Presidential election. It was a hard fought campaign, and now we must prepare ourselves to fight to defend our rights and the rights of workers across the nation. If nothing else, Trump has proven himself a determined enemy of working families. We will not allow him to bully us or any other person who works to put food on the table.
Clinton’s loss followed a hard fought campaign characterized by a dogged and thorough boots-on-the-ground strategy focused on banking early votes and turning out base voters in critical states like Nevada. Local 770 deployed hundreds of members to Nevada and other targeted races over the course of the campaign.
But we take heart in that our collective efforts produced victories for those candidates committed to workers’ rights:

And these are only a few of our statewide gains!

Our power lies in our unity, our determination, and our solidarity with working families across the nation. Wherever there is a threat to working families, wherever our strength and organization can make a difference, wherever we can meet the anti-worker threat head-on, we’ll be there, just like we were this year. We will not be cowed by this loss nor bullied by Trump. We stand with our brothers and sisters to face this challenge.
