STATEMENT | APRIL 16, 2024
Jane McAlevey has been hugely influential to us at UFCW local 770 and so many other union workers.
Jane’s Skills to Win methods, along with high member participation and strike preparation led to our best grocery contracts in UFCW history in 2022. We couldn't have done this without Jane’s inspiration, training, and support.
We first worked with Jane on our Food 4 Less campaign, and now we're back at the table again. This time, with the biggest and most diverse bargaining committee we’ve ever had. With Jane’s strategies echoing in all our actions, we are confident we will stand strong and united, and win a just contract.
We here at 770 will never forget Jane. We will continue to build member power and fight for justice using her teachings. Jane’s legacy will live on in all our future campaigns.
Thank you, Jane, for all you have done for us, for workers, and for the labor movement. We are holding you in our hearts. 🧡
