Negotiations Are Not A Game Stater Bros.

Stater Bros. talks to us like we’re idiots. We’ve had four bargaining sessions with the company and it’s clear they don’t know how negotiations work.
They’re hiding their full wage proposal and they’re the ones accusing us of playing games. On the very first day of bargaining, we gave Stater Bros. all of our proposals, including a comprehensive wage proposal. Today they admitted they were holding off on presenting wage increases for meatcutters and courtesy clerks until we respond to their $1 per year increase for only the food, GM and meat clerks at the top rate.
We won’t sit by while they attempt to piecemeal wage increases for some and try to divide us. All of us deserve fair wages, not just the workers who they deem to be the most important.
We also tried to address another big issue to us – staffing. We gave them a full staffing proposal and explained why adequate hours and full time jobs are so important to our stores. But they don’t care. The company just wants to increase their profits while requiring us to do more and more work with less and less staff.
We’ve confirmed April 11 for future negotiations and we’re waiting to hear back from the company on more dates. When we meet again with Stater Bros. we expect them to stop playing games and come prepared to negotiate on the issues that affect our lives.
The federal government offers a service that helps parties resolve contracts to avoid a labor dispute. The bargaining committee requested Stater Bros. to participate in this process to have more productive conversations and the company continues to refuse.

The company sees how powerful and united we really are – that’s why they’ve resorted to spreading misinformation and attempting to undermine us, the people at the bargaining table. They’re afraid of us standing together to demand the contract we deserve and they’re doing everything in their power to try and silence our voices and intimidate us. But we know we deserve better. And so does the public, whose support for us has been overwhelming.
We will be continuing to escalate our campaign, and the more we participate in actions like the April 14 march, stay involved in bargaining by joining calls, and stand together, the more power we have at the table to negotiate for the contract we deserve, including meaningful wage increases for every member in every year of this contract. We can’t pit one class of workers against another. We must remain united and strong to ensure we get what we deserve.

Las Negociaciones No Son Un Juego, Stater Bros.
¡Este es Nuestro Sustento!
Stater Bros. nos habla como si fuéramos idiotas. Hemos tenido cuatro sesiones de negociación con la empresa y es evidente que ellos no saben cómo funcionan las negociaciones.
Están ocultando su propuesta de sueldos completa y son ellos quienes nos acusan de jugar sucio. El primer día de negociación, le entregamos a Stater Bros. todas nuestras propuestas, incluyendo una propuesta de sueldos integral. Hoy han admitido que se están demorando en presentar aumentos de sueldo para los carniceros hasta que respondamos a su aumento de $1 al año solo para los empleados de comestibles, gerentes generales y carniceros con el sueldo máximo.
No nos quedaremos de brazos cruzados mientras intentan aumentar los sueldos de forma fragmentada para algunos y tratar de dividirnos. Todos merecemos sueldos justos, no solo los trabajadores que consideran más importantes.
También intentamos abordar otro gran problema: la dotación de personal. Les entregamos una propuesta completa y les explicamos por qué un horario adecuado y empleos de tiempo completo son tan importantes para nuestras tiendas. Pero no les importa. La empresa solo quiere aumentar sus ganancias mientras nos exige que trabajemos cada vez más con menos personal. Hemos confirmado el 11 de abril para siguientes negociaciones y estamos esperando noticias de la empresa sobre más fechas. Cuando nos volvamos a reunir con Stater Bros., esperamos que dejen de juegos y vengan preparados para negociar sobre los asuntos que afectan nuestras vidas.
El gobierno federal ofrece un servicio que ayuda a las partes a resolver contratos para evitar una disputa laboral. El comité de negociaciones solicitó a Stater Bros. participar en este proceso para tener conversaciones más productivas, y la empresa sigue negándose.

La compañía ve qué tan fuertes y unidos realmente estamos –es por eso que han recurrido a difundir desinformación e intentar debilitarnos, a las personas en la mesa de negociaciones. Ellos tienen miedo de que nosotros luchemos unidos para exigir el contrato que merecemos y están haciendo todo en su poder para tratar de callar nuestras voces e intimidarnos. Pero sabemos que merecemos algo mejor. Y también el público, cuyo apoyo ha sido contundente.
Seguiremos intensificando nuestra campaña y entre más participemos en acciones como la marcha del 14 de abril, nos mantengamos activos en las negociaciones entrando a las llamadas por zoom, y luchando unidos, más fuerza tendremos en la mesa para negociar el contrato que merecemos, incluyendo aumentos de sueldo significativos para cada uno de los miembros por cada año de este contrato. No podemos poner a una clase de trabajadores en contra de unos a otros. Debemos permanecer unidos y fuertes para asegurar que logremos lo que merecemos.
Cuando nos reunamos de nuevo con Stater Bros. ¡Ellos necesitan presentarnos una propuesta completa!
