Our company has failed to make us a fair contract offer
For months, we have been telling Food 4 Less / Foods Co. we want a fair deal by 5pm today. We gave them a proposal that would give every one of us an immediate raise and substantial wage increases each year of a three-year contract. The company decided that rather than negotiate a fair offer that would give us the hours and wages we need, they want to bring in non-union workers to do jobs that should be ours!
We have earned and deserve higher wages, faster raises, and more guaranteed hours. But none of that is possible if we allow our company to replace our work with outside vendors.
Our contract expired today without a tentative agreement because Food 4 Less / Foods Co. refused to make us a fair offer. And while we’ve been at the table trying to reach a deal, they’ve been breaking the law by committing numerous unfair labor practices, like discrimination and unlawful surveillance of workers, prohibiting us from participating in union activity, unilaterally changing our contract, and blocking us from talking to our Union Representatives.
By violating our rights, Food 4 Less / Foods Co. is making it harder for us to stand together to fight for the contract we deserve.
That’s why we’re holding strike authorization votes next week.
It is time to stand up and make our voices heard by casting our votes and telling the company to stop breaking the law. Please keep an eye out for voting dates and times from your Local.
We’ll update you on next steps on June 14th once members from all seven Locals have had a chance to cast their votes. In the meantime, please continue to report to work as usual. Remember, your wages, benefits and contract protections remain intact even though our contract is expired.
We are more united than we’ve ever been, and Food 4 Less / Foods Co. is scared of our power. Now is the time to show our company that we deserve to be taken seriously by participating in this vote.

Nuestra Compañía Ha Fallado al No Hacernos Una Oferta de Contrato Justa
Por meses, hemos estado diciendo a Food 4 Less / Foods Co. que queremos un contrato justo antes de las 5 pm de hoy. Les dimos una propuesta que nos daría a cada uno de nosotros un aumento inmediato y aumentos salariales sustanciales cada año durante el contrato de tres años. La compañía decidió que en lugar de negociar una oferta justa que nos diera las horas y salarios que necesitamos, ¡ellos quieren traer trabajadores sin unión para hacer el trabajo que debería ser nuestro!
Ya nos hemos ganado y merecemos salarios más altos, aumentos más rápidos y más horas garantizadas. Pero nada de eso es posible si permitimos que nuestra compañía reemplace nuestro trabajo con proveedores externos.
Nuestro contrato venció hoy sin un acuerdo tentativo porque Food 4 Less / Foods Co. se negó a hacernos una oferta justa. Y mientras hemos estado en la mesa de negociaciones tratando de llegar a un acuerdo, ellos han estado violando la ley al cometer varias prácticas laborales injustas, como discriminación y vigilancia ilegal de trabajadores, prohibiéndonos participar en actividades sindicales, cambiando unilateralmente nuestro contrato, e impidiéndonos hablar con nuestros representantes de la unión.
Al violar nuestros derechos, Food 4 Less / Foods Co. nos está haciendo más difícil luchar por el contrato que merecemos.
Es por eso que estamos llevando a cabo votaciones para la autorización de huelga, la próxima semana.
Es hora de luchar más fuerte y hacer oír nuestra voz emitiendo nuestros votos y diciéndole a la compañía que pare de violar la ley. Por favor mantente pendiente de las fechas y horarios de votación de tu Local.
Te avisaremos sobre los próximos pasos el 14 de junio, una vez que los miembros de nuestros siete locales de UFCW hayan tenido la oportunidad de emitir sus votos. Mientras tanto, por favor sigue reportándote a trabajar como siempre. Recuerda, tus sueldos, beneficios y protecciones de contrato siguen intactos aunque nuestro contrato ya esté vencido.
Estamos más unidos que nunca y Food 4 Less / Foods Co. tiene miedo de nuestro poder. Ahora es el momento de demostrar a nuestra compañía que merecemos que nos tomen en serio participando en la votación.
