Kaiser CLS Bargaining Update #1

KP CLS Bargaining Update| April 02, 2025

What happened during our first bargaining session?

We Set Expectations and Cleaned up Some Language

Today we met with Kaiser Permanente for our first day of bargaining on our CLS/MLT contract. We started the day by defining our priorities for these contract negotiations and setting expectations on how we will achieve a contract that benefits both the members and the communities we serve.

These conversations were productive and by the end of the day, we had agreed on cleaning up some pieces of the language in the contract and have a good jumping off point for our next session next week.

We had interest based conversations and we’re hopeful about our future ability to get the contract you deserve.

We meet with KP again on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, and Thursday, April 30, 2025. We will send another update for you on what happened in those sessions after April 30th. In the meantime, here’s how you can show KP that we’re united for the contract we deserve:

  1. Follow the UFCW 770 and Alliance of Healthcare Unions social media accounts! These platforms will house the most up-to-date information. Kaiser members can find bargaining updates and other content about the contract there, so make sure you and all of your co-workers follow the accounts to stay informed.

3. Save the date for May 5, 2025! The Alliance will be holding a Kickoff rally in Southern California. Mark your calendars so we can show up in force and tell Kaiser loud and clear that we’re ready for a strong contract. More information to come on this event! Keep an eye out on your text messages for more details.

4. Join the Contract Action Team! The contract action team is critical to bargaining and to ensuring your co-workers know what’s going on. Commit to informing colleagues, sharing bargaining updates, gathering feedback and mobilizing your co-workers to support all efforts to win a fair contract. Reach out to your Union Rep to join the KP Contract Action Team!

If you have any questions about bargaining or if there is anything else we can do to support you, please do not hesitate to contact your Bargaining Committee Members, Union Representatives, or Stewards.

In Solidarity,

Your Bargaining Committee
